Forensics

In forensics work it is important to measure vehicles, incident scenes, structures and even people with great accuracy and often without permission to physically touch what is being measured. We scanned this blue sedan that was in a fatal drunk driving collision. We were then able to compare it to the scan of an undamaged vehicle of the same model, to determine exactly how much it was crushed and in what precise directions. That is helpful when considering injury potential, seatbelt effectiveness, etc.

We are also able to take cross-sections of vehicles at different heights to see how the vehicles came together. Many other analyses can be done once we create the point cloud models.
