Documenting subsidence to protect investment
This beautiful older home had subsided somewhat in the areas that had a crawlspace under it but not in the areas sitting above the basement. The new owner wanted to document the amount of subsidence at the time of purchase so that it could be done again just before any future sale. The comparison would show any prospective buyer that the building has been stable in the intervening years (or it would document where and by how much there had been any further sinking if that was the case).
The3D point cloud of the entire home then proved useful in repairs and in documenting where the services were located in the basement ceiling.
